BSC (31st March - 8th May)

Interesting. I have not blogged in 8months...

I feel that this event is really worth blogging, maybe somewhat, even a turning point in my life...

Beijing Satelite Campus:

This was an interesting learning trip. We made our way from SG Changi Airport on an early weekday morning to Beijing. We were hosted by 北京师范大学第二附属中学, one of the top sec schools over there. They were very hospitable, and we totally enjoyed our immersion with them.

Our dormitory is right beside the school. All of us stayed on the 11th Floor, and during these 6weeks, we had lots of fun together.

People to remember:
{room 7}

Dion Loy:
~Basketball superstar, loves sleeping, easy to fall asleep, hard to wakeup

Wang Guan Bo:
~Opera talented, loves promoting China Spirit

Chen Wen Bin:
~3yr old kid

Liao Kai:
~Bandwidth eater, torrenter, lao pei pei

Guo Lei Bing:
~Basketball superstar, loves playing with all sorts of people and thrashing them

Sean Ong:
~Basketball superstar, uber high jumping power

and myself, Kelvin.

There are 39days worth of intersting articles to report, but i believe that even days would not be enough to write out this fantastic journey.

BSC is a really good place for studying effectively. Teachers nearby, school nearby, little time wasted on transport. Friends next door, just run over to ask sth. Everything seems so perfect there...
Now, back in Singapore, we have to get back to reality and face this world. It may seem so difficult and impossible, but no matter how we dislike doing it, we just have to adapt back to the Singaporean lifestyle.

北京,我们人虽不在,但心永远在。
北京师范大学第二附属中学,我们深深地爱着你 ^^

Updates

Ok, this post was posted to give a general idea of the "predicament" i'm in. 1 more week and my final examinations will start.

Yea, one shot.
One week.
7subjects.
No exemption ='(

Anyway, back to the topic. This post was actually posted to announce that I FINALLY GOT SSBM working on my computer!! That is a piece of wonderful news for 2I'08. All thanks to Shuang Xing, who made all this possible. And also part of my testing XD. But the biggest credit goes to him. Thx man!!

Ok, juz bear with me for 11 more days of no updating, no blogging, no nothing on internet. Juz 10 days of intensive mugging. Then after that, no more exams, all fun and laughter.

So, till then, BYE!!

After half a year

Hi guyz, im back after half a year. You must be wondering why? Well, bcoz Laypeng juz reminded me that i haven't updated my blog in 5 months =X

Well, let's start off with a few updates.

Projects Competition: A
Not bad, improvement from last year. That should boost my ACE points a bit XD

NPCC: Shooting
Not bad, at least my live shoot score can get me a marksman badge.

NPCC: Kayaking
Good thing i nvr did capsize. Close shave 5 times the last sunday -.-

MSG (Mean Subject Grade): Let's not talk about this.

Teachers' day celebration (29th August): Whoo hoo!

POP (passing out parade for NCOs)(tomorrow): XD wait and see...

For now, that's about all that I can remember.

Life hasn't much changed in school. However, little things that happen in class blew new life into our mundane lives.

1) Beijing Olympics / Hurdling craze
Well, it has become so rooted into our daily lives that it has turned into a class activity, be it during recess or after school. Damian is the "Liu Xiang" of our class. I can't actually hurdle properly, so i will just stick with triple jump. However, I'm trying to jump over numerous chairs stacked together. So far, I stopped at 5. 6 chairs together seemed a little insane.

2) Smashfest at Shuang Xing's House
Our Isai, Shuang Xing, decided to hold a mini smash fest for our class at his house during the september holidays. Cool idea, but the problem is, how many will turn up?

3) Targets for next term
Once again, we've come to the last week of the term. Time to revise our targets and add new ones. Hopefully, we can attain the targets set and break "world records" (you will noe what I mean if you are in 2I '08)

EOY:
English: B3 / A2
Math: A1
Science: B3
Chinese: B3
Literature: A1
Integrated Humanities: B4
Infocomm Studies: A1

MSG: <2.5

It's a distant target, but we can achieve it.

Old News

Couple of old updates here.
Wanted to post them a couple of weeks back but my rather "pretty" exam results got me a ticket to the graveyard of books.

First off, EOTA.
Nice amazing race we had @ Yishun SAFRA.
Though we didn't win, we had the chance to go through high elements station. =)

1) Canopy walk
2) Boulder Gym

Canopy walk:

VERY INTERESTING.

Scared the shyts out of me for my first few steps.
Then things started taking a turn for the better.
I could actually feel myself enjoying the scenery and thrill of walking ??metres abv the ground.

1st stretch: Short planks walking with ropes on both sides.
2nd stretch: same?
3rd stretch: whole stretch of plank?
...
Final stretch: short ropes on both sides.
All in all, the last part was challenging, but i liked it the most.

Boulder gym was just like a mini indoor rock climbing.
We juz had to climb and take down various letters to form words.

Next up, Badminton sabatical.
One word.
Awesome.

We had mini tournaments, and on the final day, a quiz.
For the tournaments, there were singles and doubles.
Singles: got knocked out in the last eight.
Doubles: won with wen jun.
Quiz: Highest. Score: 29.5/30 =.=

Items received: Nice shuttlecock + 2 pens.

Forgot to adjust the mp.

Somehow, blogger still has problems when it comes to uploading pics, like spacing out a whole tonne of lines =(

Video bar + New Song

Um, rite, as you would have noticed, i changed the music yet again.
AND
added a video bar.
Dunno how to use it though, juz typed in those keywords for those videos.
Nice Math Magic by Arthur Benjamin.
*Makes me think back on how hopeless i've been this year...ESPECIALLY for math...

REASON?
Not enough practise i guess...
As the saying goes,"Practise makes perfect".
Rather true.
Dun practise, dunno how to apply.
Dunno how to apply<--->Brain blackout
Brain blackout==>Juz pass math.
Juz pass math==>C6
C6==>Worst ever result.

ARGHHHHHHH, first time i got below an 'A'.
and not even a 'B', it's a 'C'!!!

Anyways, exams are over, almost all the results are out.
Nothing much to do...juz mug hard and hope for a better term ahead.
Only consolation:
Sabatical week --> Next week.
+ AND +
Friday EOTA.

Queenstown Community Library Mugging Session

Yay, we mugged in the Queenstown Library together today.
Lol.
Luk Yean, Kai Yuan & I.
Just the 3 of us.
Yet we managed to create some interesting events.

Event 1)
Luk Yean ACTUALLY told Kai Yuan that we were supposed to meet there at 9am, when we were supposed to meet at 10am.
Result: Kai Yuan reached at 8.45am and waited for 1h 15min.
Brilliant.

Event 2)
Before lunch, we were studying at the second floor.
Kai Yuan was spouting some nonsense i think.
Dun rmb ><

Event 3)
Went to hawker centre.
After eating, Kai Yuan was pestering Luk Yean for his Yu-gi-oh cards.

Event 4)
Realising our seats at the top have been taken, we sat downstairs at the kid's section.
Demoralising.
And when Luk Yean asked Kai Yuan for help on how to factorize some math problems, Kai Yuan said:
"In order to do this, you must first lemme analyse."
He spoke as slow as a timothy.
Or even slower.
Then, we couldn't take it and poked him.
He said:
"If you poke me ar, you will be promoted to the ji ren shi jie."
What on Earth does ji ren shi jie mean?
And after that, he kept repeating it.
And wasted 30min of Luk Yean's time as he tried his best to concentrate doing question 3c.

Event 4)
Before event 3, while we were at the kid's section,
Kai Yuan became a KID.
OH NO...
He started singing this:
"我是一个杨凯渊,杨凯渊,杨凯渊, 我是一个杨凯渊,圆圆圆凯渊。”
To the tune of some advertisement about, um, baby milk?

And the 3 of us started laughing like siao,
Kai Yuan and I laugh until cry.
And what started it?
Kai Yuan was singing this "song", and press answer to a phone call from his mom.
COOL.
And that was how we laugh uncontrollably.

Interesting afternoon I would say, nice mugging session from 10am - 4.30pm.
If Yan Rui came, it would have been better.
He is very serious when studying.

O.o

ARD pictures

Bright, but not clear.

Dark, but clearer.

We were supposed to lie down, but we were all up.
Jia Ming was lying on my legs, using my bag as a pillow =.=

Damian enthu, stand up cheer.
I randomly look at Kai Yang...

Yan Rui in the middle of Clement and Cyril.
Clement -->Mother??
Cyril-->Father??
Yan Rui-->Son??

Kai Yuan lying on Timothy.
Another Father & son.

I randomly look in another direction...

Peng Ning joined the fun wif Clement, Cyril and Yan Rui.
I managed to look and wave at the camera...=P

16-2-08

ZOMG, today was funnnnnnnn!
First, I started the day with some party for the overseas students of xi'an.
Nice.
Wushu was nice, but a little disappointing. Shuang Xing didn't perform his qiang coz he didnt come.
In the end, Yuchen stole the show with his laggy 棍 performance.

After that, we proceeded outside to 'lao yu sheng'.
30 of us to one small plate of yu sheng. Cool -.=
And the food catered was lousy.
Rock bottom.
In the end, we had to go to poolside to eat.

Then, I went to Peng Ning's House
Quite nice, the house was quite big.
He played dota while i watched.
Then, we played carrom.
And munched on goodies. (hungry)

And then came "oh shyt"
It was 5.30pm then and we were suppose to go for the Annual Reunion dinner already.
So Peng Ning took a quick bathe and changed into his outfit while I changed in his room.
(My clothing was quite nice though =X, 'Nic Jean' shirt, black with design shorts/long pants, long sleeve shirt with bright-coloured designs =P)
We set off.

Arrived in school at 6+pm.
Elwin and I very enthu, so we ran into namly and ran all the way to the steep road where our dinner was supposedly going to take place.
In the end, 2 NCOs sat there and cooly told us that it was going to be held at SALT Centre. =.=

NO AIRCON!!! Imagine how damn hot it was......
So we went to IS soccer court, watch them play soccer while walking down the slope.
Found a slightly deflated ball, picked it up, hid it at the staircase.
Continued to walk into the SALT Centre concourse.
Got laughed at by Peng Ning and Jonas......=(

Then, somehow, the idea of playing soccer popped out and we took the ball we found and started playing kampong soccer.
Then, thinking that kampong soccer was a little to messy, we grouped ourselves: Sec2 VS Sec3.
COOL!

Although our squad had quite a lot of noobs, we made use of them.
Effectively.
How?
FALL-IN!
And so, the lined up in 3 ranks in front of the goal.
Blocking the whole goal. No ball from the Sec3s could penetrate that solid wall of defense =PPP
So, Ezor and I camped near the Sec3's goal.
Either Peng Ning sent the ball flying to us,
Or Marcus Chong dribbled it to us.
Too bad, we didnt score.
Too little time, didnt dare to (if we score, muz pump 100)(ZOMG)

Then, the MCs told us to go in.
Said that the dinner was starting soon.
And made us wait for another at least 30min.

So, when the dinner finally started, we couldn't here anything.
Why?
The speaker was too soft...=.=
So we started of by lao-ing yu sheng.
Madness reigned...

Then came the crap thick soup.
Adorned with chili shreds, it looked dangerous.
We took out the chili and drank it.
万万没想到they ALSO used chili powder in the soup.
After finishing one tiny bowl, my throat was burning.
And caused me to gulp down 2 glasses of soft drinks.

Then, fish nugget like things. Quite nice, not like does eeky fish which tastes like shyt. This is nice, as nice as raw salmon ^^.
For this dish, we did something bad.
Poor Yan Rui went to the toilet.
So, we divided the food amongst ourselves, and quickly gobbled it up.
When Yan Rui came out from the toilet, he went to play with Damian, shooting rubber bands.
He came back and discovered ginger on top of the sauce.

Nice thing he said:
"Wah, the dish soooooooo nice ar, so little amount of ginger and sauce in such a BIG plate!"

There was oso fish...but it's a whole fish, so it was crappy.
Song Ken removed the fish head and walked around the concourse with it sticking from the end of a fork.
He scared the shyts our of Ivan Szeto by putting it in front of his face suddenly.
Ivan freaked out and screamed like a girl out loud.
The whole unit heard him, including the teachers.

Then after blablabla, we had out mango pudding.
Better than last year I would say.
The mango pudding had more mango taste to it than last year.
Last year's pudding tasted so bland that it was almost like flavoured water.

O, we mixed all the leftovers into a glass, mixed it and produced a glass of juice.
Bcoz SOMEONE, called Jonathan (sir), wanted to drink it. (rofl)
And he drank a whole lot of the cup, and didnt vormit. COOOOOOOL!!!!!

We also had lucky draws and quizes.
And Martin Choo got the supposedly top prize:
DAMN NICE CRUMPLER.

And after the blablabla celebrations, we chased Martin all the way out of SALT to Poolside, and back again.
We took a squad photo with our 4 sirs, and Yan Rui was sleeping on top of 2 sirs...

Then, after the whole thing ended, we had a crazy catching session.
For some wierd reason, the Sec4 squad chased the shyts out of shyts out of Cyril, and pinned him to the floor.
Steady, steady, lifted him up by 4 limbs and the body,
carried him out to the concourse.
Chill, chill, the fun part not here yet.
Stabilise him, adjust carrying position, hold steady...
3, 2, 1, GO!
Chiong like the wind while carrying him, aiming at a pole.
What exactly happened?
While chionging, Cyril's legs were pulled open,
The middle of the legs was aimed at a pole.
Flung him at the pole, collided, and landed on the floor.

Amazing thing: he landed on his butt AND he was groaning...
Nothing serious happened, according to what I know.

ZOMG, Cyril sir, are your balls okay?

Then, Jia Ming suggested that the get Cai Hong Liang sir...
And we chased the shyts out of him, and i caught his arm...
He shook off my arm and continued running.
I caught his arm with both hands and somehow managed to guide him to the fence.
He was trapped.
In the end, nothing happened to him.

Realising that my mom was at the carpark already, we ran back to the concourse, took our bags and went our separate wasy back home.

TODAY WAS SERIOUSLY DAMN FUN!!!!!!!!!

Hope to post some pictures soon.
